Help Driving with a Red-eared slider

I have a juvenile red-eared slider and I need to go to Chicago (it's a four hour drive from here) for the next week. I certainly don't want to leave him at home, so how should I go about transporting him in my car?

I am assuming you have a setup for him in Chicago? Hopefully you have an old beer styrofoam cooler? Put some shavings in the bottom, tape a hand warmer- hunting ones from Wal-Mart work just fine to the lid of the cooler. Poke a pencil in it a few times for air. No water will be okay for a few hours I would think, may want to bring a spray bottle or use moist substrate for the ride. Close it up and off you go. Get where you are going and have the enclosure set up ahead of time toss him in and enjoy your Holiday.
Good Luck,
Trina
