Man it is soooooooooooo cute.
The thing with baby snappers though, especially newborns is they try to avoid the deeper waters and like to find shallow water where they can bury in the mud and only raise their head up out of the water to breathe... so they don't do a whole lot of swimming. Your water may be too deep.

Yeah, he was hanging out in the deep end, LOL
The other end has a slope and he can sit in shallow water or get out altogether.
I've seen him use both ends so far. He seems to take to it well. I think he will be ready for release tomorrow

Hmm well i could be wrong there, at least the little one is adventurous LOL.. just from my experience with baby snappers, the ones i've found and caught in the wild were always in real shallow waters with lots of muck and algae to hide in.. well actually i've observed that with all kinds of baby turtles in general.
Definitely looks better than yesterday, I'd say he's good for release tomorrow as well. Still soooooo cute.... man i would be so tempted to keep it. lol

I was for about 30 seconds, then I made myself look at pics of fullgrown ones...haha, those giant ones that would like nothing better then to take your arm off !!!
This lil one is a cutie though. He is now hanging out in all the (fake) plants that float in the tank, only a bit of his shell is sticking out and his nose every now and then. I think he is doing excellent
