My New Turtle
So my boss came across a little snapper on this past weekend and he brought it in for me  I've called him Darth Vader.
Ain't he adorable?

OOOOH! Too cute, snapping turtles are my soft spot, I have a three year old one named Fluffy, he lives in a "pond" outside now because he is getting big!!! I LOVE THEM!!! Arent the babies just so incredibly adorable!

OMG it's a common snapper, I LOOOOOOOOVE those guys!
I've been cruisin' up and down the river behind my house here the past couple days lookin' for a little tater tot of a baby snapper. LOL I've found one before... and there are some huuuuuge ones I've seen too.

They can reach 18 to 20 inches in carapace length up here I donno about further south. I havn't check the sex yet.

Not to hijack the thread, but my hubby caught an Eastern box Turtle at his jobsite, and I was wondering what do I feed it? and does it need heat?..its 74-76F in my house, but its like 55 outside..so hes cold!

i've been search for a small snapper for about 6 month now and the only one i find are 8inches or bigger i want a hatchling to 6 inch one. a couple years ago i found a breeding pair of them and they were such great pet male was 7inch female was 8 i released them in pond next to the schol and i see them every summer
