First off what species? sometimes it will differ with thr species. normally a female will excavate several test nest. you know dig then cover it up then dig again. If your turtle is laying youre best chance is to watch her very close more than likly the only way you will find a cluch is if you see her laying them. they go into a trance so dont worry about disterbing her just mark the site and return later. bring a box with sand and a non-toxic marker to mark the tops of the eggs with, if you turn a reptile egge more often then not you will drown the embryo. Have a great time with youre reptile!!!
