help for malayan box turtle?
need some help for my malayan box turtle,she seems to have lost her 2 nostrils, is breathing out of 1 hole on nose or out of her mouth,....i know she wasnt taken care of very well before i got her now i just want to do all i can for her.any ideas out there?

When you say lost how do you mean? Was it cut or tore off? Either way it sounds like the only thing you can do is take it to a vet and see if they can reconstruct the nostrils if it isn't too deep.

it seems like the nostrals have eroded?away.......she is now eating very well,now that shes warmed up,i hate to think of how she was kept before......Thanks for the help....any advice/ideas are welcom!

Which species of turtle is this, malayan box turtle is pretty vague.
Is it one of the Cuora, Heosemys genus?
Sounds like it had a pretty severe RI at one point, a trip to a experienced vet is highly recommended.
Many of those asian turtles are in really really bad shape when they get to the US, so a thourough checkup with someone familiar with asian turtles would be your best option.
They can be notoriously difficult to acclimate if they are in bad health.

RI? I'm not sure of what species other than malayan box,.....know of any good reptile vets in CT?

RI = Respiratory Infection.
I'd call around if I were you, and look into vets who "specialize" in exotic animals. Those are the ones who are better qualified to look at ur turtle rather than a regular vet.
If you can post pics of your box turtle, maybe that would give us better clue as to what your turtle's nose looks like.
