Any scientific herpetologists our there, which taxon do...

I am aware of the controverse among herpetologist and zoologist, as to the name of the order of turtles, tortoises, and terrapins. There are two names that come up, one being Chelonia and the newer one being called Testudines. Which one is proper taxon used in the sciencific community? Thanks.

I believe as of the late 80s, Testudines is correct. I believe it was changed to deviate from Cheloniidae, which is the family of sea turtles.
