I find myself looking to place rescues I took in all the time. I am always way over my head with what I can comfortably keep...it just struck something funny that you were unloading a boa to go get another boa. I guess that's what I didn't get. I dunno...It just sounded like impulsive/taking adoptions for free/cheap pets...which you will find is never the case...ever...though it may seem that way at first. Didn't mean to turn it into a witch hunt...just sometimes we all need slapped around with the reality stick.

No witch hunt here, I feel like you are going to do what you want to do, regardless of what advice anyone gives you. However, I feel most of us care about you, and first and foremost the snake and hobby, none of us want to see you get in over your head.
If you werent planning to keep the Burm you could have said so, and saved most of us the concern. Doesnt make much sense as you mentioned needing a cage for the burm/boa to house them for the rest of their lives.

Some people that dont see issue with this are going to be the same ones that get a large snake, decide they dont want it, and pass it off, only to turn around and collect more within a day or so..The hobby is full of people like that, and to be honest, its disappointing. I was hoping you wouldnt be someone who would cycle through snakes like dirty undies LOL
If you look at the majority of members that are voicing opinions or concern for this situation..you'll see what I mean.

Its not that we think you will be a bad home, its that we think this is a LOT for someone to take on. Not just because of your age, or because you are female, but because it is a LOT of snake PERIOD.

And you have to admit, it seems rather coincidental that you are unloading or thinning down your collection for caging so you can get ANOTHER boa, and a female burm. What would you say to someone who is doing that?

There isnt a Burm problem around there, because it's Joplin, and they have a law re: large constrictors. What about the one that just got out?
I think if you talk to Ron & Debbie at the Reptile Zoo there, you will find they receive offers for unwanted Burms ALL the time. Along with African Rocks, Retics, and Iguanas. In fact, if he cant get his croc barn built, he is going to have to get rid of them so he can house the Burm he has.

I know several people in town that have burms that are over 15 ft. and there are a couple that have burms over 20. The croc barn is for the alligator and the croc, not the burm. They admit the cages they are currently in are too small. Anyways, how about people quite attacking me and maybe consider the original purpose of the thread, or is that not logical. All I did was stand up for a girl who people were calling insulting.

Well its completely off topic, but you brought it up.
Joplin city limits Burms are illegal, that was my point.
The croc barn is for the alligator and the croc yes, but if you read their site, they are planning on moving the Burm in there when they move the croc and gator out. In other words, it needs A LOT OF SPACE.

I didnt attack you, and I dont believe ANYONE attacked MAG.
I am just not understanding the purpose behind her thinning out her collection if she isnt keeping the Burm.
