Re: Adopting Another Tegu
He is a lot skinnier that he seems in the pictures, his pattern kinda hides all the skin folds he's got going on. But he's eating! So I'm not too worried.
This morning he slept in with me for about an hour right next to my cheek. His tempermant seems great so far. But then again it could be because he's weak and such. plus he hasn't exactly establised a territory yet.
Another thing is his missing toes, he walks pretty hard on his little stubby hands, they seem pretty stiff. I gave him a little hand massage today.
All in all I think he's gonna be alright, I'm glad he's not as aggressive as the lady made him sound like. She picked him up by the tail when she was getting him out of the bag!
Today he's getting eggs & papaya, & elephant heart plums. I'm still going to try and avoid rodents/meats for at least a week.
I'll keep you updated! And more better pics to come soon

Why are you avoiding rodents? He needs protein and fat to build him back up! All the nutrients he needs are in the rodents.
Why aren't you posting about him on TeguTalk? This is a Boa forum, I like it here too, but you'd get more help in a Tegu forum.
Keep up the good work!!!

Re: Adopting Another Tegu
I am going to post on tegutalk later today, I'm just busy around here with all the pets and getting the new guy comfortable and such
I'll be feeding him rodents in less than a week, probably a few days. I just want to start him off with gentle foods while he gets used to me and his new surroundings. And I don't ruin his new "discovering my scent" phase with rodents just yet. In a couple days he will get them, no worries!
He'll be a fat healthy little tegu in no time, I promise.
