First Tegu
What would you suggest for my first Tegu or Monitor? I used to work with them at the reptile shop about 5 years ago but i dont remember the difference between the two. I want a Tegu possibly a black and white. Any suggestions...raze let me know man

From my constant reading and talking to people with tegus
I'd say go for an Argentine Black and White Tegu rather than a Monitor.
I will hopefully be getting an Arg. BW soon.

If you want something to "handle" any T. Teguixin (gold and colombians) wont be that animal. Argentine Tegus would be the way to go for a more handlable lizard (in general) than any varanid.

Reds inhabit argentina but they are a different species (Tupinambis rufescens) than the black and white (T. merinae) Both would make better "hold em" lizards than a Colombian
