Boo Hoo..He Hates Me!
Dino FRIGGIN hates me!!!!..omg..he runs away when I even try to go near him..I try to hand feed him in cage and he whips me..I took him out b/c I read that you just have to do it and sit w/ them until they calm down..he bit me,scratched the heck outta me..omg..hes not eatting good..I at least go down and sit in front of his cage when hes up and he looks so mad..he does that heavy breathing...man.I tried to feed him a mouse off the tongs and he wouldnt take it...
this sucks!!!

don't feel to bad, my colombian suki, hates me pretty bad too. When I take her out, she breaths real heavy and will sometimes open her mouth at me. She hasn't struck yet...but it wouldn't surprise me if she did lol

hes a yearling..I got him from Agama..he was already in Hibernation..so he is just waking up and its in a different place..I can see why hes upset..but I have nees spending time w. him...Even if I just sit outside the cage hes huffing and wont eat in front of me..so I went to fill his water dish and I heard him eating his turkey..so i watched from afar..when he saw me he stoped...I let him eat for a little bit then I gentky walked obe r and sat beck in front of the cage..he was huffing again..I laid down in front of it for a while..he calmed but even when I said a word he huffed..I didnt even touch him..I will do this everyday until I can start to touch him..
im just upset b/c like I said I have heard most ppl say they are tame from the beginning...oh well..another challenge

I was just reading a good tegu diary written by Johelian who owns two tegus. Here' a link to it. You might find some great pearls of wisdom in there. She does a great job of chronicaling the first months with her first tegu.
