Should you feed your tegus together?
Thought this was an interesting thread at the tegu forum.

I dont thnk feeding anything together is a bright idea. Think about how people would fight if they were starving and someone put food in the middle of them.
Thanks for the post, it was a interesting read.

I really dont see a problem with it if its supervised. What you must realize is that the main reason why that accident happened is because the tegu mistaken the others leg as food. It wasnt a sign of aggression, just a mistake. But I do agree that its still risky.

I agree---to a point.
My tegus are not agressive but the female B/W has a sharp feeding response. For that reason you should never forget to use hemos when feeding her....I did once and she almost removed 3 of my fingers. She can smell and spot a carcass from across a room and believe me as lazy as she might be at all other times--she becomes airborn at that point.
My male I can roll turkey meatballs for and feed him by hand blindfolded while playing smooth jazz on the radio . Different temperaments.
Perhaps a strong feeding response is enough of a point though, not to feed aggressive feeders in the same area. The possibility for accidents are endless.
