Tegu question!!! Please Reply
Ok, I have been looking at argentine black and whites and have been thinking. I can get the temps and the humidity in the room right so that not a problem. Its the idea of how do you train them to use the same are(a litter pan or paper) each time? Assuming it was a free roamer of a room about 10' by 10' maybe more. We are building our new house now and it will be ready in about 4 more months. I will have a good portion of the basement to my self. Thats not the problem. I need to know if its possible to actually train the tegu to use a litter pan or something like that

Nicole said she kept them in her apartment a while back(like a gazillion years ago). I have been looking into them quite a bit but waking up and walking in the room with a huge turd on the floor would be a nasty suprise.

or you could build a corner off for it..or one of the "closet remodels" thta ppl do for iguanas, just replace with a screen door, and tile the floor, heat and light it....that would be cool and not too difficult...if you dont need your closet space.

I kept them in house in NY...they had access to the yard...they basically trained me.
If you live in a warm climate it's easy to housebreak them...but as far as litter pan stuff forgetaboutit

ambiant humidity is not so important, more the den area. If you keep moist moss in the den area this will suffice. trying to keep a room or closet humid could result in mold if not done right.
