Maybe Tegu...
Im looking in to getting a tegu if my savannah dies, he bit his toe off while hunting yesterday. If you could name some breeds that get 2-4 feet and can be well tamed with handling, that would be great! thanks

You figure he's going to die from a lost toe? Perhaps a vet visit?

huh?
Your planning what to get in case your lizard dies....?
As Tom said maybe the money for a new pet would be better spent at the vets

i doubt a missing toe will kill him though infection may set in if not treated and it sounds your not going to treat it why?

The missing toe won't kill him if you treat it, and it won't make him any less of a good pet. My iguana came to me missing half of one of his toes. The injury must have occured when he was only a hatchling, because I got him very young and it was already healed. He makes him unique and gives him character, and he certainly didn't die from it.
