His cage is 4and 1/2 feet long, about 3 feet highand 3 feet wide(my husband is a carpenter and builds all our own vivs) HIs temps are low to mid 80s on hot side, and around mid 70s on cool side.

You need a 160 for that cage...basking spot should be 110-120...so the rock should be moved up until those temps are achieved

Yes, crix are live. I suppose he could have taken some in {cyprus mulch} but I wach him eat a lot and hes got pretty deadly aim and mostly picks them off the walls
|

Trust me--your animal will do much better with some UVB from a heat source....so his body can create D3 they way it was meant to. Not to mention aid in digestion and overall health
