Would like to see a common illness and treatment forum

This could cover everyday type of first aid...what to have on hand, where to get it, how to administer it, etc.

Common snake ailments and what to look for.

I know I've seen something like this out on the web but sometimes when someone is in a real hurry and has something so emotionally charged going on they don't have time to look for it
wherever it is or was.....

A first aid and common ailments site would be nice...

Just a thought.....

I second that Sunn mites and RI seem to be the most common along with feeding [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

It's a good idea, but...what's the point? We already have a Reptile Health Issues forum as well as a Feeding forum. Creating a forum like this would just be redundant. We also have caresheets on some of the common ailments. All people need to do is use the search function.

If you do a search on Reptile Haven you can find the answers to many of the questions you have on numerous health issues.

Here's one.........

Prevention & Treatment of Mites in Your Collection

Most health related questions and their answers can be found in the FAQ, Help Me, and Health Issues Sections of this site. We are working on posting the top recommendations and answers for the most asked questions and common problems (like the mites sheets above). As these are completed, they will be posted in the appropriate forums and made to stay at the top of that forum so no searching is needed.

Johnnyb, there already is a forums just for feeding. And I'm sure if you use the search function, you cna find the answers to many of your questions in that forum.

There are many new items and updates being worked on to better enhance Reptile Haven. The Mites page is done and posted and I am currently working on a substrate post that covers the many substrates used to day and their pros and cons. I would think pages on RI are coming, as well as ones on cages, heating/humidity, and many more of the most asked questions and problems. Look for these at the stuck at the top of the appropriate forums in the near future.

Well, I just suggested it since when we are having a problem.......half the time the search feature doesn't work <at least for me> and the time involved in searching thru numberous
posts in different places is too time consuming.

I did see something when I first got into snakes so I will just go find it again and print it out and keep it on my cleaning and first aid cart for fast reference just like I have already done on the subject of mites.

I believe copies of this type of thing would be good to send out the door with each person
acquiring a snake of mine, it'd at least make me feel I had done all I could do to help the next owner.

IF products and instructions are on hand already folks are more apt to have a clear head
and handle it timely and knowledgably.

we have about 3 different search links, so that may explain the difficulty in finding stuff...

To find stuff easier in the forums, use this search link,

For finding site stuff, such as stories, news, reviews, sections etc, the other search functions are best.
