I didn't join this forum to make e-friends, I joined to get and give advice to the best of my abilities. Discuss things related to reptiles. Maybe some other types of animals.

Since I've joined it's been the same groups of people ganging up on members, new people, etc. It really makes this site look awful, I'm sorry to say.

There's no reason someone should post a comment or question in a thread and get ripped to shreds by someone and their goonies over it.

What happened to this being about a place for herp lovers to come and share experience, stories, pictures, advice?? I didn't sign up to relive high school online.

Thing is efriends develop in open forums. if you just want facts on care, there is plenty of reference sites on the net for that. a lot of what you call cliques aren't cliques but like minded people who agree on a subject. remember you are viritually new here as well, stick aroun and you will see people who seem to be the best of friends disagree and argue over subjects that they differ on. part of what makes the site as good as it is comes from the freedom members have to express themselves. and yes, when one sees another being attacked, they will come to their aid, but that is based on the fact that they have known each other and know where that person stands. And really overall, I see a lot more new members coming in here with attitudes and picking fights then older members just jumping on newbies. when the newbies start something, then all heck breaks loose. overall, most people on here are tolerant and patient with new members, but when they start to throw the flack, the regulars don't need to put up with it.

(okay, just my 2cents....gotta go study for the drivers exam some more..... )

the thing is...the main arguements are caused when people will not accept the advice that they asked for. Some people ask for advice, and dont get the answer they want, so they post the same basic question, in a new thread, with a different title, and hope that this time they will get a different answer (as we have seen in the last few days)

David no offense, but this thread is about the problems occuring in general not you specifically. Please don't restart yesterdays problems. I think we should all move on. Again no one is attacking anyone on this post just stating the obvious problems that have been going on lately.

x2. BUT, I definitely admit that I always jump onto the underdog's side if I see them getting bashed on for something stupid they said. That right there will start a debate, because it forms sides. I think that most people try not to speak up in bashings, but sometimes you can't keep your mouth shut (er, fingers still I guess) when its something you feel really strongly about. If somebody says "I'm ready to start breeding snakes" you should see the replies that pop up. Mostly its an opinion thing. Everybody has a different opinion, and some feel more strongly about it than others. Forums are unfortunately a breeding ground for debates, so even though they're literally banned everywhere but in the Debate Forum, they're still gonna pop up.

And to be quite honest...they keep my work day much more interesting.

How come anytime anyone has a problem with anyone else, you always seem to assume it's about you and immediately start fishing for reaction? Stop it. This was obviously a post about a GENERAL problem, and not pointed towards anyone at all.

Back on topic:

I feel ya. I haven't been posting as much as I used to recently, for a number of reasons. Though my #1 reason is simply because no one seems willing to listen. And when I do get a hair up my rear to actually post something remotely helpful, I always hit the "send" button with a big sigh because I can't help but feel like I just went through the trouble to type up something, and it isn't going to do a lick of good to anyone like it would have, say, about a year ago.

So, I've taken to just sort of idly watching, like the mods do, only I completely lack any kind of authority, so when I see something bothersome, I just log off and go check the snakes' cages for the umpteenth time that day. :\

Although - I've had some REALLY clean cages lately, that's a plus.

I just wanted to put my two cents in as a NEWBIE! This forum is is definately one of the best on the web, the content and quality of animals and members is second to none!!
