Ok, admins, what happened to KLGs thread ("Don't try this at home" ??
Yesterday it was locked, re-opened, then somebody (I imagine KLG) deleted the picture that started the thread.
This AM is gone. No thread. Moved? Deleted?? Was this a final resolution by the admins? Natas?

Ahhh.. struck again by the instant magic dissappearing thread trick...
I have no idea, Slap, it was there up until I went to work yesterday.
Until then it had been civil, no major issues etc, so it is possible that KLG requested it be taken off completely.
Kinda like the 'boogers' thread, full of great material, but deleted by some one none the less..

I deleted the thread.
After a long drawn out msg exchange with KLG....a little bit of understanding and enough insight as to what NERD does and doesn't do and what is their policy v/s some of the past and present employees policy and who's collection is who's....anyway...I think everything was resolved and the fact that people were calling in threats to NERD seemed to be a case of "enough is enough" I think or at least I was convinced that their stance on voids isn't far off from the "anti" group ....I just wish some things were made more clear from the start but the wording of a few of her posts kept throwing up red flags and lit a few fuses. As far as I know, both sides are chilled and since KLG deleted all of her posts on the thread, it no longer served any purpose here for the site other than a flame battleground.

Speaking of missing threads, whatever happened to the one where cb76 showed somebody how to make your own thermostat using an electric box, dimmer dial, and two outlets?

I dunno what happened to the boogers thread LOL....apparently someone deleted it.
The cb76 thread is probably one of those "poorly titled" threads or else he put it in the middle of someone else's thread somewhere in a slight subject change from the original topic so you will probably have to open every single thread in the housing/caging, just talk, or any number of other forums to find it at this point...this happens way too often too. A lot of good posts end up lost in the sea of nondescript topics...something I have been moaning and groaning about for a very long time.

While I am glad the "Cobra" issue got resolved offline, many others read enough about the ongoing flame and not about the final result. I would think that just as we can start big flames or missunderstandings, we can also post the clarification/explanation/settlement for the rest of us.
Again, I am glad it is all OK.

Just a thought from the cornholio ....
why not create a how-to section... where someone can write an article and "publish" it so that all can have an easier time locating things. I am not talking about stuff like how to make your snake poop and how to handle a 30' snake. I mean article likes "How to make a home made Rheostat" or "How to make an aritificial rock background" It could even be something as simple as a mod of a "read only" forum copying and pasting useful materials to post within that "read only" fourm. I think this would make it easier for us and "newbies" to the site to find more useful information.
¿any opinions?

You mean a do-it-yourself section, instead of the purchased stuff...
Or the admins/moderators could cruise the cages forum and extract good tidbits and pictures into a repository...

Slap.... I was thinking along those lines.
Not saying the admins had to keep up with it though.
Just make it a post only forum so that people dont continually reply and get the how-to's going in different directions.
Maybe the Mods/Admins for that forum could catch things in posts from other forums and either move the posts to the how to forum or copy and paste potions of the posts.
I would volunteer to be a moderator to the "Tips and Tricks" forum
Simple reference things could even go there.... ie: Post Title: Digital Thermometers
Home Depot and Wally World carry them in the indoor plants section.

I think this is a good idea Stormy. The only thing that I would suggest is that it could be submitted just as we now submit news stories. Then an admin/mod could look it over and post it. Kinda like the FAQ section works now.
The only problem I see with that is getting people to use it.

That's why I am recommending it as a forum... I think people would be more inclined to use it as a forum rather than having to submit articles as they do with news. Not to mention just quick cut and paste when either a mod or someone comes across something in another forum that they think would be useful for someone in the future. That way the next person along has much less to browse through to find it. Kind of like a Helpful Hints from Redtialboease.

Hey Stormy...if you really want to suggest this, go to the Admin section at the bottom of the forums and post it in the suggestions forum.
