No, Anacondas are boas and should be grouped with all the smaller boas, not including red tails.

Serious site complaint
Alright the poking fun post have gotten out of hand, so I would like to address a serious issues. Can we include Anacondas in the monsters category? I think they deserve to be in the monster category.

Re: Serious site complaint
I agree, they are monster snakes, even yellows can be pretty big. I figure if the snake can be over 100lbs then it can be considered a monster

Do you mean the giant python category? There isn't really a "monster" one is there?

I abstain from the vote.
It is a boa. However it does get massive! So maybe if "pythons" is dropped the Anaconda can be included

Yes, that is what I am proposing, we drop the "pythons" and include all the giant snakes in one category.

If it was me Raze, I would keep the "pythons" and Add A new Category just for Anacondas

Re: Serious site complaint
I'd say.... If it gets over 15 feet long, it ought to be considered a monster snake.
My personal definition of "monster snake" is one that gets big enough to confuse you for food. Anacondas, retics, burms, af rocks... I'm sure there are others.
But if it gets big enough that, as an older well-fed adult, you could be confused for prey? Definitely a monster in my book.

The only true monsters are humans. I suggest that we exclude the word "monster" from any forum title or name.

"Giants".....I like it. Even though they are a boa, they rank highly in this category.
.
Good idea.

I can second the "giants" motion.
Monster does imply something of an unfriendly nature to put it mildly.

i dont think we need an entire category just for condas...it would never get off the ground...I can only think of 2 people on the forum who have condas

How could anyone say something this cute is a monster. I second giving the Anaconda it's own category such as giant snakes.

Re: Serious site complaint
I think this is a no brainer. Of course it is a monster snake. Can you imagine someone seeing it in the smaller boa category and then going out and getting one? They'd be in for a rude awakening. Perhaps we call the category "BBS" (big beautiful snakey).

I would say yes provisionally. Monster? How about Giant Species Snakes and include anything that commonly exceeds 12 feet?
