OK, profanity filter aside, why don't people just read their posts before hitting "Submit"? It's really not that difficult. For those of you in a professional setting, do you just type out an email and then hit "send" without re-reading it and making sure things are spelled correctly and that your email says what you want it to say?? I am not opposed to having a few minutes of additional edit time, but infinite edit time? I don't think that is necessary.
Actually, I think I have found the answer in a quote from Office Space. For those of you who have seen it, this is from a scene where Peter is meeting with the Bobs:

Some of us arent in an office situation for work LOL
I am an auto mechanic.
I type fast...but the words dont always come out the way I want them to.
Even when I talk, I dont usually say what I mean until I reword it. Must be dyslexia or something! or maybe I'm just stupid...
Normally I DO review my posts before sumbitting them, but even still I often find better ways of saying things...a few minutes later.
Indefinite editing isnt necessary, but I never understood the harm. Sometimes links and IMG urls change and its nice to update an old post with the new url...and not as an add-on post, as an edit.
When I used to type reports, I would print it out and read it that way. Seeing it full size helped me edit. Its sorta the same thing by posting and editing. You see the whole post, react to it, and edit it.
I dunno...just my 2 cents....ok, ok, I know its more than 2 cents...
P.S.- when you hit preview post, it TOTALLY screws up your post...changing the spacing/separation of paragraphs
