Hello. I think it would be very cool to meet other members. It is one thing to get advise on proper set-ups and another to actually see an experienced herpers set-up. Maybe someday one of the members will hold a get together or something so that people with like interests could get together to share ideas and freindship..

I nor my roommate are anything close to good housekeepers....couple of slobs actually....but the kitchen and patio/grill area stays somewhat less than nasty. My pets have always been kept in really clean cages...dunno why I'm so anal about them and not me. hehe anyway...anyone in or near Georgia is always welcome to pop in here to hang out and grill out and/or drink beer and marvel at how I managed to squeeze so many tanks and cages into one bedroom.

we could put it right next to the search part. just punch in your state and it goes to a list of people from that state. But we would need consent, maybe some people don't want to be known for reasons.

I agree...I think this would be a really great feature. I have met some really cool people, right here in my own home town (not to mention this side of the country), via this web site. Cap'n, I think you make a good point about consent, but don't they give that when they create the account and place the info there anyway? If you don't want someone to know where you are, don't include the info. Si? Non?

Lots of good points, but Trinity has it i think, if they dont want people to know where they are from they aren't required to put their location in in the first place. Sounds like a cool idea to me. And if someone contacts them once they see they are in the same area, they dont have to respond!

the reason why I suggested that people may not want to be know is that I put in Maine in mine right? I could live in Colorado for all you know. That's why I suggest it to people who want to be involved. Just cause I live in Maine doesn't mean you're going to find me if I didn't want to. There would be a consent that might be able to narrow it down to a town. It's just a thought. I've read a lot of suggestions and I liked this one from a year ago. Clay over at Redtailboas.com has a really cool plug in for his forum. A member map... members put a "thumbtack" on a map of the US that shows where they are from.

In the mean time.... if someone wants to email name and location I can start a VERY VERY simple running list of names and locations. What I can do is an easy setup in Excel that will allow outputing an HTML page that I can link to from RH, or email to someone to upload to RH's servers. Wont be the best thing in the world but it might work as a hold over until someone can do a real database information.
