Red Cross banner
If you have some extra space somewhere on the site a banner/link to http://www.redcross.org/donate/donate.html might help some folks out.

Yeah we definatly need everyone that can to go give blood now with the hurricanes and stuff but when you get in there and actually do it and realize it's nothing so horrible and that even in less disasterous times a new patient somewhere needs blood once every 2 seconds and so few people actually go give...make it a routine thing to go do every couple of months. When you get to know your local redcross staff, it actually becomes something you look forward to.

I think over the next few months (hopefully not years) everything we can give is going to be needed. Like you say, blood really critical right now. I hope everyone will pitch in what they can. Always remember, it may be you in need next time.

Ya never know.... I do think that now is the time for all of us who weren't whacked to do everything we can for those who were. Might be us next time, heck, was me this time but I was lucky to be hit by the early part of it. The eye crossed right over my house....

I don't have access to banners anymore because I was abusing the system and put up a free banner for the spartanburg show lol. Msg natas. Megan and I give platelets every month...sometimes twice a month and I give whole blood every few months. Platelets are better because you can do it more often and they get a lot more from it than they do whole blood. If nothing else, be selfish. There are great health benefits from causing your body to regenerate cells so look at it as free blood therapy and free juice and cookies. You also sometimes get free tshirts, coupons for free meals at local resturants, drawings for airline tickets, free gas for a year...tool boxes from Lowes..all that just depends on what is being donated for giveaways to help encourage donors to come in and is random and I'm sure varies by location...but none of that stuff matters. Little Susie or Johnny won't be alive tomorrow unless you go give blood today.
