Re: Python Cake!!!
I actually had a neat little chat on fb with the person who made it. She was saying that she didn't like snakes but she made it for a little girl's birthday party. She only developed a fear of snakes as an adult, but she said that as she worked on this, she could begin to see the beauty in them again (sort of)! She became fond of the cake the more she worked on it. It made me happy to hear that someone who didn't like snakes could set that aside to make something like this. But she has gotten a LOT of bad comments from people all over Facebook. People threatening to kill Or hurt snakes. She made a post about how this was NOT acceptable and how much it upset her. Overall, she seems like a pretty awesome lady, even for not liking snakes!

That is such a cool story! I wonder if giving people cakes in the shape of snakes or spiders or whatnot could be a legitimate way to get them over their fears? Sort of like a positive association kind of thing?

I think it's a great way to get a cake thrown at you!?
I have to say that python cake looked so real that to me it was unsettling to see it cut into....shivers! I don't want to think about eating a snake when I'm eating cake...'course maybe it would keep me from eating TOO MUCH cake? I admit I love the stuff!
I too am glad that it gave some understanding & appreciation of snakes to the cake-baker anyway! (the comments from the "peanut gallery" are another matter!)

Re: Python Cake!!!
That was an awesome cake!!! She did very well on it. You don't have to go far to hear or read very negative comments about snakes or about people reveling in killing one. I spoke my piece to a niece recently when she bubbled on on Facebook about her husband killing a rattlesnake.

Re: Python Cake!!!
Great. I was craving white cake all day today. I don't even like white cake. I'm more of a chocolate person.
