Satco 90-1310 90-1310 Brass Finish 5-1/4" Light Bulb Cage
cage light, great deals on Collectibles, Home Garden on eBay!
I know Tom uses them for his cage building and could probably direct you to some.

Re: Light bulb guards/sheilds

My advice would be to find a way to not install a light on the inside of the enclosure at all. Have you looked into Radient Heat Panels at all? No burn risk...what is the enclosure for?

Re: Light bulb guards/sheilds

I made these from 1/2" galvanized hardware cloth, for our Cuban Rock Iguana's enclosure. I used a dremel to break all the sharp edges, still I don't know if I'd recommend it for use in a snake enclosure.

Re: Light bulb guards/sheilds

This is the 3 stacked unit I built. They will be for all 3 snakes BCI/Burm/Ball (assuming we ever find my ball)....I want to do RHP but just dont have the $$ right now. I was going to upgrade to those come tax time. Trying to "get by" till then.

Dave, Thanks for the pic of the bulb cage you built. I made one similiar but still am not sure about it in a snake cage like you mentioned. Was hoping to find something vinyl coated.

Re: Light bulb guards/sheilds

This is the place. Call them up and find someone who's bought a large quantity and ask them to sell you some. That's what I did. Hardware Cloth - Vinyl Coated Welded Wire Mesh
