Any Information would be helpfull
Anyone know a good dealer to order Frozen/Thawed medium sized Rats. When I say medium sized means that I am still in the stage where you have Rat Pups, Small, Medium, Large and Jumbo.
I see people talking about weight of the foods they feed. Trying to figure that out too.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
I was just about to ask the same thing, as NONE of the stores around here sell LARGE frozen rats...or anything bigger.
Mine is getting big enough that she's not satisfied with small anymore.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
I have used rodentpro.com before and they are great. Although I buy so many feeders now that the shipping is just way to expensive. So now I goto the reptile show and buy from a rodent dealer there. In short the best and cheapest way to purchase frozen rodents if from a show.

I second that. With all my snakes slowly graduating to small rabbits buying feeders from anywhere other than at a reptile show or rabbitery would be extremely expensive.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
If I had any rodent breeders at shows that were less than 3.5 hours away I would get them at shows more often.
I have always used rodentpro.com also... they still come out the cheapest overall when it comes to buying frozen rodents online.

Hamburg is like 3 hours from me but I go. Its way worth the money I save. Sorry just can't justify paying an extra 300+ bucks for shipping.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
I'm a big fan of Big Cheese Rodents, been buying from them for over 7 years now. I just finally found a local supplier and I'm happy to be saving on those shipping charges now. I heard rodentpro didn't vaccum seal their bags?

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
I found it most economical to start my own rat colony. If you search around you may find places to sell your excess rats. I produce just enough rats to support my snake habit. On your wieght question: some people want to know exactly how much they are feeding to thier critters.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
I buy from The Mouse Factory because they charge the actual shipping cost and they have the cleanest and healthiest looking rodents I have ever seen! My thinking is that Zelda is my pet and I owe it to her to not skimp on her food but to feed her the very best quality rodent I can find so as to help insure her good health. The Mouse Factory is run by snake owners and they feed their rodents excellent food and kill and process them very very well.

Re: Any Information would be helpfull
The only problem I have with Gourmet Rodent is they skip from large to jumbo rats
And some of the rats I buy in the large size have been Xlarge.
so I must dig thur all of them and hand size them.
here is there web page.
The Gourmet Rodent
With only one pet shop in town it is hard to find a different selection
