BoaMaster - good or bad?
BoaMaster Cages
I was looking around for cages and found BoaMaster. Anyone know anything about the cages?

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
In August at the Hamburg show I bought a small rack system off of him that holds three small sterlite tubs and I bought a 4x2x2 melamine cage. They had been demos he used for shows and he was getting ready to go to Daytona so Mark (I think name is Mark, I forget for sure) was selling them with huge discounts. All I had to do was seal the big cage myself and add heat. I was never happier with any cage that I have purchased in the past. Good construction, great service...he went out of his way to ensure I had help to load them in my suv and was an all around nice guy. I would purchase from him in an instant. The only "bad" thing is the weight, but then what do you expect for a cage made out of melamine. It is suppose to be heavy. I would say go for it, you won't be sorry.

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
Sounds good.
I'm hesitant about the weight, though, as you mentioned. In about a year I'll be moving, so I'm worried about the transportation. However, the site says you have to assemble them, so I bet I could disassemble them when I need to move.
Hm hm hm.
All righty, enough rambling.
Thanks, hartsock

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
Hey, thought I would throw up a pic of the Boamaster cage setup. I don't know if he puts the name on all like that or not, again these were show demos and the big one even had casters on the bottom at one point (not when I got it) so he could wheel it into shows easier. The little 3 bin rack even has a lid on the top that opens up to a storage area.
Please excuse the messiness, I gotta pick up around here, lol.

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
Personally I prefer plastic over melamine for a cage buidling material, but that's a lot of trial and error.

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
Plastic tends to be a lot more expensive, though, Morti. And when I'll be getting equal quality as far as the living conditions of the snake then I can't help but go with the least expensive.

I know... I am really late replying.
But plastic holds up better in the long run and doesn't warp with use, so you are saving money as opposed to replacing the melamine cages 5-10 years down the road.

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
Ah, good point, I guess. Plastic is much lighter too....

Re: BoaMaster - good or bad?
I have never seen his cages in person but I have never heard anything bad about them. I don't like melamine for cages too. I use oak plywood that I have sealed for all my custom wood cages. Here is a picture of my 3 cage system. If you like this type of furniture grade cage there is more info and pictures on my website. I build all my cages to last the lifetime of your pet.
Take care
Tom
