Rat Breeder? Anyone Ship?
Hey everybody,
Does anybody here live in the Eastern US, who breeds rats? And is willing to ship?
See, I can not get rats reasonably, locally, in the size I need for my snake (about the size of a reguler feeder mouse), and since I only have 1 boa currently, I would be buying a life time supply of rodents, if I got it from like say rodent pro, or something.
Thanks guys,
Claude

All this points to one thing in my eyes, breed your own. Get a few females and a male and start making babies, raise them up to the right size, kill, then freeze them. 1 or 2 females will easily feel a few boas if you have a few extra tanks to raise up the babies and its pretty cheap to do.

Where exactly do you live?
If you can go to a reptile show it's usually a pretty good idea because you can pick up frozen rodents there...
But depending on where you live.. going to a reptile show isn't easy for everyone.
Breeding your own rats is also good... make your own CO2 with vinegar and baking soda... or CO2 tanks used for paintball guns.... or dry ice.

Re: Rat Breeder? Anyone Ship?
I live right outside Buffalo NY, there is only one show I know of around here, and it is in September every year.
I can not breed the rodents myself. My parents said absolutely no way, they do not want live rodents in the house.
Thanks guys,
Claude

If your parents don't want live rodents then tell them they have to drive you to hamburg pa. to get frozen ones at the reptile show. There is also a show in white plains new york. In January Welcome to ReptileExpo.com
