Re: Do Not Buy A Cage From Josh Sharp - mushu1432@aol.com
yeah im sry you got screwed. my cages are a little more expensive but that comes from quality. im a one man buisness i build quality rather than quanity, so you get what you pay for. i charge 1500.00 for mine but there is a fair amount of time that goes into them. a lot of these other big companies charge much more than that i have seen a average of 2,000-6000 for a 6x2x2 foot cage. and again im sry you got ripped off.

Re: Do Not Buy A Cage From Josh Sharp - mushu1432@aol.com
thank you cameron 15, i would possible involve a small claims court. depending on how bad the cage actually is, pictures dont really do it justice, if it posses a saftey hazard for your animal i would return and demand a refund

I'm not trying to pick on you or anything. But I'm wondering why you charge $1,500 for a cage like that? Don't get me wrong, it looks nice! I am in the process of designing a 8x4x6 cage and the quality is great. And it will cost me $400 to build it, approximately. And it'll take only about 8 hours to build it, at most.

Re: Do Not Buy A Cage From Josh Sharp - mushu1432@aol.com
why do you pay 30,000 for a car that cost 10,000
why do you pay what you pay for a lot of things, you
pay 200,000 for a home that cost 70,000.00
its a business. and its cheaper than most of your online snake builders. check out cages by design they are outragous.

Re: Do Not Buy A Cage From Josh Sharp - mushu1432@aol.com
Well yes, I'm not arguing markup to make a profit. But even as a hvac installer, I make about 50 a hour. And building cages is easy work comparatively. 8 hours work is what, 400 dollars. And 200 in material. Maybe another 100 in equipment wear and tear.
I haven't seen cages by design, but check out Tom's cages. He uses carpentry for his cages. Makes some amazing looking cages, and a lot of work goes into his cages. 2 days work would not suprise me in the least.
I mean, you can charge whatever you want. I'm not trying to argue costs here, I only build cages for myself and any friends, I don't see much of a business here when boaphile cages cost 600 for a big one with the bells and whistles.
I can't imagine asking a 1000 dollar markup in such a low demand market. But if you can get it then great! Makes no difference to me either way.

Wow, $1500!
These two would've cost about 300 a piece to make! And one is 8 feet long.

This is not the BOI. While I appreciate that you want to give us a heads up, Let's just leave it at that.

your cages arnt as eloborite as mine either, mine had a lot of detail into them
5 layers of paint for the camo, the interrior work, mine cost about 400 in materials. and people who buy cages arnt DIY'ers they are looking for something they like, and i have quite a few interest in my cages
i also come from a custom building background with homes, decks, ect and people pay a lot of money for something just for them.
good luck with dealing with your cage buyer.
