How much should I sell for?

I have a pair of red tail boas, pastel lines. The female is 4ft long and the male is 3 ft+ long . Ive never sold any boas or really looked in on the prices. What would you consider a fair price for this pair. Im needing to sell them for personal reasons. There is nothing wrong with the snakes at all. Im just having some relationship problems. My fiancee is afraid of large snakes.

Here is some pictures. The male is a little darker in the saddles then the female.

Sell the fiance

You could always find a good home and give them away. We took a blackthraot monitor from a guy who was going to sell it. When he saw the cage we would house it in he gave it to us. I have never seen someone care about his animal more than the money, like this guy did.

im not certain on the price of boas really, im sure soon someone will tell you this is the wrong place blah blah blah..... anyways they look like good animals, not exactly what im lookin for but oh welll. what did you pay might i ask? io would guess you should look somewhere like kingsnake.com and see what the ones like them go for. selling them as a package deal at reduced price may get you a quick sale.

No i'm kidding. You could perhaps argue that they aren't large snakes and flash a frew arocks or retic pics in here and there.

lol paper clips are usefull! I need paper clips hellz yea! hehehe. <3 that made me giggle thanks. I needed to be cheered up some. I really will miss these two and I would give them away but Im sort of nervous about who you give pets too now a days. People can act really friendly and responcible till they are out of your site. I would hate to find out some how later down the road that I gave my babies to some one who put them in a 10 gallon glass aquarium or maybe just resold them. Thats one of the reasons why Im wanting to sell them and not just hand them over to someone. The other reason is it wouldnt hurt to have a little extra money for bills. Those always seem to never stop coming hehe.

When I got them it was over a year ago. They were just a few inches long. I had recived them as a birthday present from my grandmother. And she refussed to tell me how much she paied for them. I guess cause she most likely felt she paied too much. She is like that. She had seen me drooling over some on the internet one day when she visited.

I would recommend advertising locally so you can go check out the set up they will be living in. A responsible keeper will have a cage ready before they acquire the reptile.

That's one of the risks that you take with selling reptiles. You just do the best you can to try and find them the best home as you can and hope they get the same (or even better) care than before. And that's really all you can do.

Alright I was gonna post them on Kingsnake.com but seems you have to pay like $20 and up for one month with out the ability to post pictures. So Im gonna try Fauna and see if my town has a classifieds paper that comes out as well.

I have honestly tried everything I could think of and they are growing very fast. He has been having nightmares about them, almost every night for a month now. See we have kids and someone at work told him these crazy story about snakes eating babies. And then he just HAD to go watch that movie "Snakes on a Plane" or something like that. And ever since he has been terrified. You dont even wanna know of some of the dreams he discribed to me that he had. They made even my skin crawl.

Tell him many people with snakes bigger than red tails have kids also. You just have to be responsible. Start a post asking about people with large snakes and children maybe we can help convince him they're o.k.

there is one with me and my younger cousins. Tell him by giving into fear your children will be afraid of snakes also.

Why do people go along and say stuff like that? Snakes eating babies. Cause you know... that's the snake's first priority. :\

Well, I wish you goodluck in finding a home for them. Hopefully they go somewhere where someone will take very good care of them.

I dont know. My mother said the same thing to me. I think older people are more afraid of things like that cause of the fact they was raised with out facts about the kinds of snakes we raise now a days and never experianced owning one, and that it might have a lot to do with the parental over protectiveness in them. I know thats what his issue is. And it doesnt help any when people make movies about KILLER SNAKES and stuff. I cursed through out the whole movie when I saw Snakes on a Plane. I ended up getting told to leave the room by the other people watching it lol

You are right to many people are irrational about snakes but they are capable of killing humans and in some cases consuming humans. So keepers must take all precautions when keeping a large constrictor or any large reptile.
