Bad review on cage
JungleHabitatsPlastics.com, Welcome!
Last year around June 2006 i saw a post recommeding JungleHabitatsPlastics.com, Welcome! his prices seemed fair and the pictures of his cages seemed to be very will put together, so i purchased a cage from JungleHabitatsPlastics.com, Welcome! so it i got an email saying it would be between 3-4 weeks, i called on the 5th week to see whats up because i didnt get any, its going to be delayed or anything, so around the 6th week i got the cage. It seemed to be nicly shipped boxed well, when i opened it both doors were broke off, there was glue along the top of the cage, the light fixtures inside were broken and it looked like my 9 yr old could have done a better job building a cage. so we call up and say that its broke and shipping company comes and picks it back up and weeks and weeks go past i think months even, so by that time im kinda pee'ed off that i paid for a cage that was crappy and really just wanted my money back.
so in the end i got nothing, no cage no money.
i dont think i will ever purchase a cage only again.

Re: Bad review on cage
Thanks Jack. I'm thinking about switching from wood to plastic, and I was just about to check out their website. I wonder if this was an isolated case or if this kind of service happens regularly.

Re: Bad review on cage
People say that boaphile cages come broken 2. I guess you can't please everybody all the time. The thing with plastic cages is that they are really not built to stand up to shipping when assembled. Thats why alot of people use Animal plastic cages and assemble them at home themselves.

Re: Bad review on cage
I just wanted to comment on other plastic cages. I had a boaphile come in a few years back that had a crack in the plastic at one of the top corners (looked like shipping dropped the box). I took photos and let Jeff know right away and they replaced the cage. Also, I've had good luck with BARRS (herpcages.com) cages.

Re: Bad review on cage
I've never had a bad experience with BARRS to date.
I've been slowly switching over my old neo's to barrs, and they have all been perfect.

Re: Bad review on cage
This is the first negative thing I've ever heard about Alan @ Jungle Habitats.
Did you contact him regarding the problems?

Re: Bad review on cage
Well im not sure who you are so i am not sure how to reply to this post. I will say that this is the first time i have heard of this , not saying i dont have things happen and all but i find it VERY hard to think you never got anything in return or such. please email me or PM your info and ill do a look through records. I do have one door thats going out for damages this week and have a damaged cage im replacing for a customer next week. As for timelines Yes I do get back logged at times and things will happen such as a damage that requires a ASAP replacement which will sometimes cause a delay. Again send me info and I will look into this and get back with you.

heh...nice to get a response like that.i guess well see what happens now.
i have an animal plastics rack system made from melamine, and several vision cages.the visions seem to have warped slightly over time, my rack seems to work like a champ. i will however be making my next rack system, because you can build something really nice for $200.00 that would cost you $2500 from a company. i guess it depends on whether its a display type case or if your breeding and would like to save a few dollars by going with something more function than form.my next rack will be a metal/plastic prefab shelf, a
40' heat cable, and a reptistat controller.simple but functional, just add sterilite tubs.

Re: Bad review on cage
I hope this gets resolved for both parties.
sounds to me like it just fell through the cracks, which can happen.
