Normally I just go to Rep. shows, but I saw an ad for a Female Hypo het for Albino that I really liked .
Ive never bought a live animal online before so I dont know what exactly to expect or some precautions to take, also how do I find out if the person selling is really reputable?
Thanks All

Yes it is ok to buy online just make sure you know who you are dealing with.
BOI
Go to this site and check up on the person you are buying from. I believe most people in the reptile indusrty are good, however there are some scam artists.
Good Luck,

I have bought reptiles online but it really depends on what you are looking at. Are you talking about an auction, a breeder's web site or someone's post?
In an auction (and there about three reputable ones that I know of --Yes, folks Dave and Tracy's HerpAuction will be back!) and with a seller's post, one takes their chances. You have only the information provided by the seller. Often, there will also be a picture posted. You can email the seller and ask as many questions as you like (AND PLEASE DO THAT) but you will never know if you are getting the truth. You may also not win the auction --which is frustrating. It is hit or miss, but I will say that if you cannot get a picture of the animal do not even bother with the person. I would also say if you cannot get the seller to guarantee the animal(or your money back) in writing then move on.
In addition, with auctions, private post sellers ect.. you never know how experienced they are at shipping animals. This inexperience results in dead reptiles at your door.
The up side to auctions is that you will pay much less than you normally would for an animal. I have obtained several reptiles and they are all excellent but that's luck of the draw. The old addage "you get what you pay for" applies here. I say this even as a seller myself on auctions. I encourage people to email me and drill me about reptiles.
A breeder's web site is a much different scenario. This is what they do, It is the only thing that they do and they have guarantees. You can ask around about certain breeders that you see online and if they are "worth their salt " so to speak, then people in the herp community will have heard of them and you can gather info from them. Reptiles are more expensive but the quality is better, they are healthier, the shipping is proper and thedealer is not going anywhere should you need to get in touch with them regarding your reptile.
When I purchase reptiles, I most often attend shows. You have all the advantages of dealing with a breeder, you don't have to pay the enormous shipping costs, and the reptiles are usually a bit cheaper because breeders want to unload them. But most important of all, you can HANDLE them yourself and check the condition of the animal yourself. Granted, some booths will not let you handle the reptiles and if they don't, then move to another booth. Don't purchase a reptile that you can't handle. But be careful with the reptiles and respectful of the breeders when handling and always carry your own bottle of antiseptic when attending the shows.
So continue going to rep shows and try some online breeders but stay away from auctions and private posts unless you really feel that you trust the seller. And STAY AWAY FROM PETSTORES --that is just a given but I am sure you know that! Hopefully, you will get additional posts that discuss other advantages and disadvantages that I have missed and probably some strong disagreers with my post --all of which should be helpful to you.
Kim

Well its actually an online trading post type of deal, he has pics of his other boas, and he has some real nice stuff (hypo arabesque, albino arabesque etc.)
Ive seen a few of his posts on there before, he also lives in Utah if that helps
Btw, about 4 or so breeders that post on there Ive seen/met at Rep Shows...

Online ordering has it's ups and downs. There is plenty of reputable breeders online. However, you stated the offer from a classified ad. Best thing would be to post his name on the BOI and wait for results. You should be able to find a good bit of information about him.
