test result for megaray--best bulb on the market now

I have tested quite a few MVB's with my meter since getting it through the group. I have been disappointed in most of them---especially Nature Zone and FSS. The readings on NZ were 5 at times...FSS did not get above 40. Powersun's and other popular brands were problematic as well.
I have recently switched over to Trex completely after reading the info in the group. Unfortunately this was before Bob Mac came out with his line of products. I am not saying Trex is bad--it happend to be in the top 3 I would recommend, in between westron and megaray.
I now have the mega ray sb flood installed in my bearded dragon cage....the readings after 1 week, through the screen are 225 --- so far the best I have seen in this house. I plan on switching over completely during my next bulb change. What I really like about these new bulbs is:

1) There is a product for each animal in the house--as close to species specific as anyone has come so far.
2) I trust Robert MacCarger--he loves animals
3) Each product from the UVb bulbs to the CHE alternative mega heat---is ground breaking.
If anyone has not tried these bulbs I suggest starting with one and seeing for yourself.
We Love You Bob

Wow those are EXPENSIVE. Can you fit the replacement bulb into a normal dome? That 65.00 kid is alot. The bulbs arent too cheap either.

Nicole, from what I read on that site, it says it should be no closer to the reptile than 3 feet. How do you manage this? Are all your cages at least 3 feet tall? I was thinking about getting a couple for my cham and green tree monitor, but there's no way I could get the bulb three feet from their basking spots. I'd be wasting half of the cage height if I did. Any ideas?

No those are the zoobulbs--if you look into the site there are alot of different types. I find the website a little hard to navigate as far as looking for different info--so I'll email Bob and let him know. But yes--if you really look you can see all the different types of bulbs he has.
Mine is over a teared pearch in a 75 gallon tank....within a foot....
I have the self ballasted megaray which is $40. The other lamp is externally ballasted and you are paying for the ballast and the lamp---you buy the ballast once...then the bulbs I believe are like $30.
Trust me, if you saw the readings for the other lamps you would understand. They are getting between 30-40 dollars for all the top brands and you are getting little in the way of uvb. It really sux paying all that money for nothing
I have bought so many different bulbs you would not believe it. These are the best of the best. Better readings are not possible without going too far And to save a few dollars (and it is only like $4 more expensive then powersuns) you are getting steak instead of cookies for your pet.
