I hate digging up old threads......but what's the life expectancy on one of those? How do you like now that it's been in use for 9 months? Overall comparison to the CHE's?

much better. The only time I have ever lost one was due to my move----I carelessly dropped a couple.
Safety: much better
cost to run: half
quality: incredible
projection: a bit further---but the heat stays safe and will not burn an animal that approaches the device...it's all protected in a screen casing.

What are the temps that these heat emitters get your cage up to?
What size home are you heating? I was looking to buy a 250 Watt CHE
for my new 6' x 2' cage. It has two heating sockets and I was looking to use them both, a 250W CHE and 150W heat lamp in each.

Just so everyone knows, This heat ray only projects heat straight down up to 24 inches. It will aslo not up the ambient temperatures.
