It is an awesome story for sure, and although I knew that some apes use tools like sticks and stones, I did not know that they collected them for future use.
The next thing now is for us to discover how they think, if they actually think in a language and say to themselves "Hah! This is a great stick to poke out that little wiggler with! I'm going to keep it until tomorrow morning and try again." Or if they just pick up the stuff and hold on to it instinctively, just knowing that it's an important and good thing to have, but not much more.
