Completely apart from the hybrid issue, what is this about "savior siblings?" Does that mean they can just pick an embryo and raise a child to use as a donor? Or that they take tissue from the embryo? I find that more chilling than the hybrid thing personally, since the hybrids are not going to actually be raised or anything of the sort.

That's really cool research, right there.
A few years ago I came up with an idea similar, but for completely different reasons. The driving reason being that I personally think I would be much cuter if I had a functional tail. But the whole "idea" was really spawned because a friend of mine contradicted my theory, so I came up with a way in which human animal hybrids could actually work.... Interesting stuff.

Good to see science win one. Imagine all we could cure and accomplish if scientist did not have to fight religions. Reminds me of when Galileo died under house arrest for trying to convince people of heliocentrism.
