Re: Oldest Living Tree Found in Sweden
My lord that is awesome. Look at the links there is one to a 405 year old clam too. Our time here is very short if you stop and think about the life span of some of the other living creatures on this planet

Absolutely amazing. A tree that was growing when Rome fell, Christ died, ancient civilizations sparked, flourished, then disappeared. Thank you for the link.

I remember when a tree was a tree and roots were roots.

Re: Oldest Living Tree Found in Sweden
A trunk is a trunk, a branch is a branch, and a pine needle is a pine needle. If a tree loses a branch and grows a new one, it's still a tree. This tree is able to lose a trunk and grow a new one from the same root system.

Re: Oldest Living Tree Found in Sweden
A tree without a trunk, are roots. The roots may be old but the truck is new. A tree is simply the basis of all parts, not just one. One part of it being old doesn't make an entire beast old.
If the title said, root system, I'd be like "sweet", but it's not so my excitement isn't all excited. The title is claiming the entire statue is old, which it isn't. It's like saying the tree is new because a new branch grew.
In terms, the root system, can ditch a trunk and the rest of it's belongings and then regrow a new truck, making the trunk/twigs/branches/leaves new and the roots old. So, the tree is new and used..
Nonsense, maybe, but I'm not impressed simply by the title. Redwoods, now there's a story.
