Poor little things. People talking about how ugly they are, pouring acid on them, and feeding them to their snakes..........good thing they live underground!

The word "Acid" carries such a strong connotation. They explain that it has the same acidity as lemon juice. That's a pretty small egg to break in order to make a HUGE omelette.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I hear of burning things with acid and I think of the acid blood from the creature in "Alien", so this doesn't sound quite as bad.
Of course, the idea of people seeing what it takes to give these things pain is somewhat disturbing to me.

that type of research has made huge strides in the quality of our lives. it is basically one of the "ugly things" that is somewhat necessary but not for public consumption. the process of making a burger is far worse and when you think about it, uggh, same with chickens and thanksgiving dinner.

as omnivores, we simply have to live off the death and pain of other animals.

maybe we should all learn the process of photosynthesis. imagine eating as you tan
