Just got this one last night. The will to survive was high on the list of whatever it got ahold of. This snake is kinda like a mascot for Hanging Rock State park here in NC. He has been residing there for several years and one of the park rangers found it sent it here to see if I could bring it around. Someone there had fed it a chicken egg which was unbroken and rotting inside the snake. I managed to work the egg out last night in one piece. Now comes the part of building it back up and hopefully it will make enough of a recovery to go back where it came from, if not back to the wild it will be used for display there.

This pic kinda shows how thin it is.

Here you can see the wounds on and behind the head. The eye has also been damaged.

Another pic showing how thin it is.

Guess someone thought all snakes can be egg eaters. What a shame.

poor guy,
black rats normally can eat eggs, but the snakes muscle structure is degraded, so digesting a egg probably wasnt something that snake can do right now.
Especially if its a out of the fridge grocery store egg.

good luck, hope he makes it.

Sorry to hear that Barry.
That's a real bummer.
