Safe Haven 4 Snakes & Reptile Rescue
Hello RTB.net!
SH4S is a non-profit rescue effort based out of upstate, NY
We in most cases do not adopt out, but merely give an
unwanted animal a chance to live out It's life healthy & happy.
Currently we are working shops as well as local shelters.
We do not adopt out, nor do we sell animals. In most cases
the animals i take in i keep forever. I do travel locally to different schools
and use these beautiful animals on an educational basis.
If you know of anyone who has an snake or reptile they can no longer keep
please do not hesitate to give us a call. Sadly we are local as stated prior, but i will never rule out helping another animal in need. Together we can make a difference.

May I ask what kind of facility you have, because I plan to have a rescue center myself.
I will for the sanity of my family and I adopt the snakes back out (given they are healthy, mite free, and are good tempered). But before I adopt a single snake to anybody. They have to prove to me that they know, and have what it takes to own a snake.

Do you have any photos of your facility? Also, how do you manage incoming giant snakes and large, aggressive lizards; oh, and what is your capacity/current population?

NY state law prohibits larger exotic snakes such as Rocks, Burmese & Retics. Some monitors are also on that same list. I don't have a facility just basically run it out of my home. I think any animal thats aggressive, you have to understand how they were kept.... A lot of people purchase snakes and lizards on a whim. They throw in a feeder...never take the snake or lizard out. They get cage aggressive ect ect. I must say, with that said some animals just don't want to be held what so ever. It's really simply work ethic & the love for these guys that matters.
