Here is a beautiful little adult sinaloan milksnake that Brian Smith just got in on rescue. Apparently someone tried to help it shed and partially degloved the tail about an inch below the vent. The skin didn't come off....but was torn all the way around and pulled down a bit. It is badly infected. Brian has his hands full for a little while. I can't wait to see what the next shed will look like...getting past that bumpy tail will be a pain.

Poor thing I always wrap a warm wet rag around any part that needs to shed for a few minutes before helping to work it off..... by then it pretty much comes off on its own as the snake crawls through the rag.
Good luck with him Brian, although you don't really need it. The snake's in good hands.

Owie! Poor thing! Hope it does ok. Any possibility it may need to be amputated? At least it's below the vent. By the way, I'm probably going to be looking for an adult sinaloan in the near future, so if this guy does ok and needs a home, let me know! I'd be glad to give him a good home!

Well, he is doing a little better. He took a mouse for me with no coaxing. And he is in the blue now. Keep your fingers crossed!
