I just got this Ball python in for treatment. It has some major burns on half it's body. As you can see in the one pic, the skin is already peeling off leaving exposed meat. I am currently applying tripple anti ointment and keeping it clean. A trip to the vet will be done in the morning. It doesnt look like infection has set in yet but I am sure it's on the way. Hopefully I got it in time to head the infection off. I am gonna keep it in a plastic tote without any substrate so the ointment will stay on longer, and the tote will be cleaned daily.
My question is...
Is there anything else I can do for this poor snake other than keep it clean, keep the triple anti ointment and possible baytril shots(if needed)?

OMG that looks really bad. I would say the soft paper towel thing would be a good idea. I'm not too sure about the bathtub thing though. It's not as sanitary as one might think, and I would think the prolonged exposure to humidity would increase chances of infection.

I would leave just the plastic bottom so the oitment stays on. All I can say is oh my god! That poor snake, those are some of the worst burns I have ever seen, especially on the entire body like that. I hope he recovers. Good luck.

Oh yeah.. the tote has a very smooth bottom. I did soak her for a bit and clean her when I got her in. Thats when I noticed the skin peeling off.
I want her in the tote without papertowel or any kind of substrate so the ointment doesnt rub off, the ointment stays on the bottom of the tote and thus stays on her belly longer.

As for the soaking part, if you were to use either saline or distilled water mixed with an antibiotic/microbial like betadine or chlorohexadine, and follow it with the neosporin, then you will do less damage and less chance for an infection rather than using tap water.
Also the tub by itself is good, but don't forget to heat it with a pad from underneath, otherwise its imunno system may not help fight off infection either.
As for drinking, pedialyte mix. A burn is EXTREMLY dehydrating on a body, and it needs all it can get right now. Just use a bowl too small for it to get into and a non tipping type like a dog food bowl with the extended rim.
__Just a tid-bit of info, when one gets a burn like this, where skin is off and meat is exposed, the odds of death due to dehydration is much higher than any thing else except infections. Pain does not kill, in a burn patient....

Eddie, Yeah I had some distilled water when I soaked/cleaned her, then put antibiotic ointment on. as far as the heat pad.. I dont want to use that because of the burn. That would be like adding to the burn with the heat coming up directle on the underside of the snake. I have the snake in the back bedroom. It stays around 80 degrees or more in there at all times so I think it will be warm enough.

This burn was not caused by a heat rock.. it was a heatpad that was on HIGH.

UPDATE...
The skin is really starting to peel off and she is now on Baytril shots for infection. The infection is not too bad at the moment but a little is too much. Hopefully we can get this snake straightened out soon.
