There's more on this

We also took in another BAll Python as well. No pics of this one yet though. have been quite busy with the Iguana.

Hey Lori, there is a female iggy JUST like him at my local store. Bright green, short tail.... she's only 'somewhat' friendly, tho..LOL She will tolerate her tummy rubbed when she's clinging to the side of her enclosure.

Just updating on this lil guy. We had to rush him into the vet yesterday as the tail became VERY infected and most definately gangrenous on Sunday [ arghh Just try and find a reptile vet that's o/c on Sunday around here ! UGH]. Couldn't get him into a vet that knew what they would be doing till Monday though. He had to have surgery to remove ALL the tail last night. The vet gave him a only a 50% chance of surviving through the surgery as the tail needed to be taken off just about up to the body..maybe like 1" is left of tail. The surgical removal was set at such a low survival rate due to the expected amount of bleeding and possibility of controlling it also. We were told that it would be a 30 minute procedure, it was actually a
1and 1/2 hour procedure though. There were complications involving his hemipenes during the surgery [ he may have to have them removed completely in another surgical procedure if he survives]. He pulled through the surgery and we picked him up this evening.
He's pretty much touch and go atm also, vet says still a 50% chance of survival. He was not able to remove any further on the tail allthough it would actually be warranted from what was found during surgery.
He's gettiung some of his coloring back that he lost from the stress of the surgery now and is alert and eating for us also. We'll see what tomm. holds for him.
I can now definately say that I am as broke as they come atm also ..UGH
Anyways.. that's where I have been the last couple days and what we have been dealing with around here.

YES it actually is ben.. BUT when they come in like they have been lately.. sooner would actually be better IMO.

The iG went to the vet today.. He has a slight infection going on in the tip of what's left of his tail atm...arghh. The stitches were taken out of the vent and of course the hemipenes have prolapsed now too.. arghh. Most likely will have the surgery to remove them then if this is what's going to take place with them. Going to wait and amke sure that he pulls through ok first though before doing that surgery. He's on baytril atm and also MAJOR triple anti for the infection as well as tons of lubricant for the hemipenes to keep them moist seeing as they do not want to stay where they should be.

YUP, or it would be of no use IMO. Sometimes finding a "good" match can be a challenge though ..UGH.

Like the latest one called in.. an 8' spectacled caimen.. Got a bit large for the owner to handle it it seems. GEESH!!
