I was called yesterday on a boa that was abandoned in a house for a while that had a nose rub mark on it from rubbing on its screen lid, recieved after being picked up at the house.

If you look close, you can see exposed bone in the middle of the hole on its nose....

As you can tell, its gonna be a little while for a full recovery and most likely with a nice deep scar.....

A quick update.
I started topical treatments yesterday, with a mild soap antimicrbial mix, to clean the hole, and now that I cleaned it up and started looking at the snake, have noticed some small scabbing in other areas that look like they may have been rat bites....

So for now, I am going on with treating it as a bite rather than a rub, and slightly #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^& that the former possessor may have lied about the injury, which is at an odd location for an actual rub any ways.

No signs of infection as of now, but will be starting the antibiotics this afternoon, as a prevention since it is still an open wound and will be very easy to get infected, especially when any of it becomes necrotic. Which will lead ton debridement (fun....) of the dead tissues furthering the wound slightly in order to facilitate healing.

But I fed last night, and although a little hesitant, did take the F/T offered to him.
Since the former possessor couldn't tell me the feeding history, I offered food that was about 1/2 its girth to hopefully avoid a regurge, just in case its done that recently.
