Looks to be a chocolate lab. We have a black lab, and yes all labs are hyperactive dogs but if you get them trained in some obedience school they do a lot better. We learned the hard way when we took in a stray 6 month old black lab puppy. lol But he's great tho.
As with any animal, people really should research on the best breed of dog before getting one to suite their lifestyle and temperament.

Nice looking chocolate lab you have there. I have chocolate lab that is 13 years old now. The first 3 years he was a very hyper dog and chewed anything that was made out of wood.
Take care
Tom

Labs are great dogs when trained. He looks more like a Chesapeake Bay Retriever by his coat.

I think he may be part golden retriever or part irish setter due to its ear shape and hair. What is the color of him? I can't really tell by the pictures. He doesn't really look much like a lab

Very nice looking dog. It is amazing how the right home environment for a dag can make the same dog that was a problem in one household a baby in another. Just goes to show that it is not the dog that needs the training, it is the humans. I believe any dog that has a well balanced life can be great pet. As long as the owners are meeting the dogs need of exercise, leadership, and loving attention even the most unruly of dogs will calm down and be a great pet. Congrats on the rescue!!

Yes I must say that he has changed alot since we got him. He has learned so much, before he was pretty bad about minding. He was also very nosy, he annoyed are other little dog, she hated him, think about it a little 20 terrier mutt nipping a 80 pound monster on the NOSE!!lol
