Hey, look what santa dropped off to me tonight...
Actually, this female is the latest rescue in, from a family that got it as a baby and then got scared of it as it grew...
They did take reasonably good care of it, but didn't handle it very often as its claws and tail scared them.

WOW, pretty girl! Too bad I don't have the room to take care of an iggy. I'd love to get a Panama iguana. I love their blue heads....but iggies require a LOT more responsibility. With my headaches, it would be very difficult for me to keep one, too...

When it comes to care, are spinytail Iggy's very different than green Iggy's? The only difference I know of is their diet. Is there anything else?

Similar, since they are from the same part of the world.
But different temperments from the green iggy.
Check out thiscare sheet on them as the diet is some what varied from the greens as well.

Thank you! That was very helpful. I just got one as a rescue and was told it was a few months old... but according to what I just read it must be an adult as it's colors are dark brown and black and it's reached full size. hmmm... I wonder how old it is.

Just freeze it and hit it with a hammer, count the iggy shards to get the true age in months.
Actually, I have no idea!
Prolly do some searches on google, looking at pics in various colors and sizes, then take a guess to get an idea!
