I got a call today from our nature museum about a pair of sliders that were dropped off on the sidewalk with a note......
The two are about 5" lond each and were housed in a turtle oasis....

Here's the note.

Here's their what they were dropped off in, unsure if it was their home or not....It's a 12" oasis...

And here's the turts!

And believe it or not, they appear to be in great health!
As of now, they are in a 20 gal. with a heater, filter and the works, such as decoration is coming soon.

it is so sad when people drop off theyre animals this way. but at least the good thing is that someone found them and called someone who knew what to do for them.

be very careful and always TRY to practice good quarantine techinques.

I once acquired an awesome looking boa that actually looked like a pastel
AWESOME COLORS and hardly a lick of black.

Poor thing died of IBD

Edited to say the following:
forgot to say the thing was mailed to me.
forgot to say that I say TRY because I do not always practice what I preach. (but now I just acquire stuff from VERY reputable sources)
Forgot to say.....I am glad those were dropped off. Eddie will definately take care of them

Thses little guys are fun to watch! I am wondering if they have ever been exposed to a tank with the water because they keep running into the glass! But they are cute!

If you ever dont want them I know some peeps around here(including Me) LOL instrested in rescue turtles (especially RES). best thing is we dont live that far away..LOL wish it was around here and they woulda called me..LOL
O and Giz they usually do that till they get a feel for the perimeter. Then they'll learn.

Cute lil RES' ya got there. Least the person who had em dropped em off somewhere they knew they would get taken care of. They could have just dumped em in a pond ya know..UGH.
Yeah they will keep going at the glass till they get the hang of it that they can not go any further than they are at. Sometimes if they won't stop doing that, just take some paper or some of that background printed stuff and apply it fully around the tank to the waters level. That will usually stop em from doing that btw.

Oh and Shad... Yeah they do that quite a bit usually..until they realize it has no effect on ya that is lol. I have a big ole guy that still will try that once in awhile with me even.. YES they will get a grip on your finger if ya get it anywhere near that open moputh usually also. NOT a fun thing to try and undo either btw They also love to hiss quite a bit sometimes also, not all of them do though, but if ya get one that hisses..it will usually hiss a ton...
