Saved another one
I gave my card to one of the pet stores incase people didn't want thier reptiles any longer. Well I get yet another call and this lady had a ball Python for 7 years and didn't want it anymore. So I go to her house (mind you its like 30's and 40's here) and the snake is in her unheated garage. Ever hold a half frozen snake? I wanted to slap this lady but I held it together. I put the poor thing under my 2 shirts and leather coat and drove the hour home. I got home and pulled her out still frozen and she had a shed still on. Four hours later she was still warming up. I woke the morning and walked around with her before work all warm around my neck. I think she is going to be ok she told me this morning in not so many hisses that she was upset and thanks for saving me.

glad to hear it crush, that's a rather more encouraging story to wake up to than we usually get when reading the news! Just glad she didn't warm up on your neck and decide to take out her angst on you!!

About the only thing you need to watch out for is a Respiratory Infection. If the snake was too cold for too long, it's pretty much a given. Keep an ear out for any wheezing/popping noises when the snake breathes. You can also listen to the snake's lung(s) by placing your ear about 1/3 of the way down the body and listening very carefully as the snake moves and takes a breath. Listen for any kind rattling... much like how a human with bronchitis sounds, lol.
Hopefully you got to it just in time and won't have to deal with it. But it's good to be cautious and prepared should it happen. Nice save.

Thanks from all of us.
I've told the local shelter to call me if they have any come in. They say it happens alot. It is sad!
It's good that people like you and Louise are out there.

It's been less than a week, give her more time to acclimate. Have you been handling her often?
By the way, I love your sig...
