LMAO JUl's.

Update on Jake. He has been to the vet , who has us rigidly working on hydrating him, going good too even with that at this point [ vet was last week btw], a culture for sensitivity was done also on his mouth...got the results today in fact. He has 2 things going on..he's got..
streptococyl bacteria [ I know I spelled that wrong ]
psuedonomas also [ prolly not spelled correct either, having a bad day here UGH]

Both are reactive to Baytril and that is what he has been on anyway, so we're going to continue with such tx anti-wise then.

he seems to be doing better also at this point even. Hope it continues this way for him though

Well he does seem to be improving some here now. I'll grab new pics tomm of him. Not gonna look much greater than these ones but there is a difference that can be seen.

Anyway.. The BCI that this same owner had that I had adopted and wound up with JAKE also I finally got some pics of today. They are located here in this THREAD.

Just out of curiosity, is this snake being passively or actively hydrated?

Passively would be soaking and providing an electrolyte solution for drinking.

Actively would be oral administration of appropriate volume of fluids (since I don't know how much it weighs, I cannot suggest a figure for the volume)

J his rehydration TX is two-fold/bilateral delivery actually. Went this route as his hydration was like "null" basically.
He receives an electrolyte / water soak and is provided with a water bowl of the same also, which he has been observed drinking from also. He just doesn't drink enough to combat the level of dehydration which he has though on his own accord.

Also he receives hydration TX via oral administration of such with tubing. the amount he receives is 50cc ..3 X's daily. At this point he is receiving...
1 of those doses as purely hydration electrolytes
1 of the doses as the nutrient enhancing mixture which includes a % of electrolyte fluids.
1 of the doses as a 50% dilution of the electrolyte fluids and the other 50% of dosing as the nutrient enhancing mixture.
I have a page that breaks it all down in relation to his rehabbing also. it is located ]HERE [ I haven't placed the update in relation to his vet appointment on there as yet though with the changes in his TX]

His current body weight is 4.6lbs only.
Hope that clarifies for ya somewhat J
