White Plains Show - Page 2

One other question about the show. My friend that I was with, Jean....she once had an iguana. She was wondering why there seemed to be such a low presence of iggys at the show? Is it because they're getting a bad rap with the salmonella thing or are they just losing favor in the publics eye? Just wondering. She was very surprised that we had only seen maybe a half dozen choices.

Well, I'm baaack!! I left here at 11:30 Sat. nite, and got some rest on the way and arrived at the show around 11:15 this morning. It was a pretty good show all in all. I didn't find anyone, they all found me. Then again, I was probably the only dude with an orange hat and an orange t-shirt at the show. Alicewave found me about 5 minutes after I arrived, and I spent most of the day walking around with her and her boyfriend. I also got to met Pythonchick and her fiance, Phaedrus, Ophiophagus-hannah, and NYCSpeedcore. It was nice to meet all of you, although it was brief, like Phaedrus said.

Ophio - No offense, but all this time, I had pictured you to be somewhere in your mid to late 30's or early 40's. I was wrong. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img] And dude, what's with that bruise under your eye?

As for what I bought at the show, you guys will just have to wait for the pics. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Wow, Bry....a 12 hour road trip! But, I'm glad you were able to make it as well as get home safely.

I was glad to see Bry, Opus, and Alice there, but I was strapped for time myself. I had to book through the show because I was leaving to go fishing, next time I should have a lot more time to spend there walking around. Hey Opus, did you get a good deal at the end or what [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] ? No animals for me, just a mister and a 5 months worth of rats. Nerd had a 62K bumble-bee spider ball python... supposivly only 3 in existance. That and a few pie-bald balls as well... I can always dream [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] . Wish I would have seen you Radkon, it was great talking to you last time we met.

Well, I didn't get there until about 2:50pm, so I didn't see anybody from here. Oh well, next time I guess. Was a nice show...and I'm glad I know how big burms get, or I probably would have gotten an albino.

We had a fun time at the show. Like Bry said, we got to meet him and Alice. ..and Like NYC said, next time a preplanned meet/time!!

Although this might have been our last show in White Plains [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img] Since we're going to be moving to Florida in a few months. No more spending $ on more herp shows!!

I ended up with a few goodies. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] I only intended to get one female BP, and I ended up with 2. One normal sub-adult and 1 CB this year...partial stripe! When I get home I'll post some pics.

Also, I got a male leo gecko. He jumped out of all 3 hands that were holding him. So, we just decided to get him since he was so feisty!! [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] Since he's the new guy in the tank, and almost ready to breed, they told me to keep him seperate from the 2 girls for a few months. So, he's currently in a med critter keeper inside the regular gecko enclosure...just for a day or so until I get a tank divider. He will breed in a month or so, but my girls aren't quite ready for it yet.
