Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
Hopefully they don't kill off native snakes and/or other animals that might feed on the mice.

Re: Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
There are no more native snakes in Guam. They have all been out competed by the Brown Tree Snake.

Re: Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
Interesting. At least they're not using another non-native species to combat the first non-native species, well, at least not one that's alive and danger to the ecosystem, anyway.

Re: Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
Actually have a friend from Guam. I've discussed my snakes with him and he's told me about how there are no native snakes there and how it is becoming a problem for them. People get irritated coming across the snakes so often as a pest too. Interesting way to take care of the problem.. o.o

Re: Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
I lived in Australia until I was 17 and never heard of the Brown tree snake. Maybe because it lives in tropical regions and I lived in a more temperate area of WA. We had to watch out for Dugites and Tiger snakes.
Wow off topic.
Anyway I hope this works and there are no unexpected side-effects, as there usually are when the government tries to exterminate something.

Re: Snake Extermination Attempt in Guam
So if this works, will our government start dropping tylenol laced bunnies through the Florida Everglades to try to get rid of the pythons?

ha ha ha ha....now why didn't I think of that! Of course they would leave the bunnies alive and feed them the Tylenol, in which case the Bunnies would just look at the Python with no worries and say, "What's up Doc?"
The bunnies would have sex and the next thing you know....well you understand.

They have to think of something to do with all that recalled Tylenol?
