Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
The moral of the story is...Everybody feeling another one of those "Reminders" life seems to throw at you every once in awhile? I hate how the news put such a sensational spin on these stories, BUT I love the underlying reminder, even captive snakes are still wild animals and the giants are incredibly powerful, be safe and cautious. Great reminder.

Me too. And, quite frankly, I'm having a hard time believing a 10' python killed a guy.

Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
I can see a couple situations that could have aided the python into killing the guy, but have dealing with wild burms (So Flo: Ones that hate you and want you to die) of similar sizes, I'd hate to admit being off'd by a 10' foot burm...
I suspect foul play.

Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
Rules are in place for a reason. I'm sorry he died for his mistake, but he should have known better.

Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
I'm sure the "eating" part is bull, any snake whether a 10 ft Python or a 4 ft Rattle Snake can tell when something is too big to eat.
It is very sad, I hope the Snake is ok.

Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
My first thought was, "How large was this guy, that a 10 foot snake thought it could swallow?"
The second article seems to suggest that perhaps the snake was wrapped around the fella's neck.
I do remember reading an article a while back about an 11 footer killing a 15 year old boy while he was taking a nap.
Sad stories....both of them.

Re: zookeeper killed by Burmese python
Very unfortunant. Despite the man making a stupid mistake I do have sympathy for him and all those his death affected. But yeah, I find it strange that the burm was only 10 ft. He must have been a smaller guy.
